
How was this done without a picture? Starting from the 72 dpi (screen resolution) digital image at right, background was deleted, picture was stylized, and enlarged to 240 dpi (print resolution) in Photoshop; blended background layer was added. Type was also removed from Adam's T-shirt, so people wouldn't think that "the strokes" was the name of the CD ("Adam Davis" is the CD name).
Images from digital cameras are indeed the future — but resolution (image size and quality) is NOT automatic: in fact, most digital cameras simply cannot produce print-quality images. Be sure your camera is set up to take high resolution images, before you start. Increasing the size of a low resolution image is tricky and time-consuming at best. |
